Sushi-licious

Saturday we joined our good friends, the McMinns for all you can eat Sushi. I haven't had sushi since before I was pregnant and it was delicious. Here we are enjoying our meal and showing off our mad chop stick skills.

Here we have Steph, Kev and Aaron's disembodied hand showing off a sushi toast. That's how much we enjoyed the afternoon. We are lucky to have such good friends.

On an unrelated note, here is the bear trying out a bumpo. For some reason I thought a bear in a bumpo was just about one of the funniest things I had ever seen. She may need one of these for Christmas...

On an even more unrelated note, I really need a hair cut as I am starting to look like the Brady Bunch mom. Sorry Florence, I'm just not ready to try and bring that look back. Why does the back have to grow so much faster than the top?

The Family Artist

No, no it's not me you are all too kind for assuming I have any artistic abilities. Okay, so no one really thought it was me, but I forgive you. My amazing sister in law, Jodi, entered Shabby Apple's dress design contest and was picked for the top 15! Now she needs everyone to go to their blog and vote for her dress. Go do it now, you won't regret it!

Sunny Fall Days

We have had some really nice weather this last week and have been trying to enjoy it as much as we can (you never know when it might snow again around here). We have been eating lunch with Aaron at the park, visiting the zoo with friends, taking long walks along the river behind our apartment and of course taking some little hikes. This past weekend we decided to head down to Cherry Creek State Park for a little hike. Cherry Creek is great because it is only about 15 minutes from our house but feels like we have totally gotten away from the city. We picked a new trail this week and Aaron was delighted to discover that it was a favorite dog walking trail. The bear was probably not quite as happy since the trail ended being super bumpy and we had her in her little dinky stroller (wet ground + lots of dogs + nice sunny day = very bumpy path). She was also an exciting new smell that the dogs couldn't resist (she may have gotten a bit slimmed with dog slobber). All in all it was a great afternoon outing. We love Colorado!

Have I mentioned...

how much I love these two?

Yes, the bear is trying to eat dad's head in this picture. I think it is just her desperate attempt to hold on.

Pumpkin Threats

What better way to threaten your school nemesis than to carve his face into a large pumpkin. What can I say, Aaron has amazing skillz. If only I could channel his artistic abilities for good...

Halloween Sneak Preview

In my usual procrastinating manor I have spent most of today finishing up our Halloween costumes before our party tonight. Keeping with tradition I ended up making the parts of the costume that I couldn't find anywhere else. Aaron made the masks after my first attempt ended up looking like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle rip off (aka it would only fit if your eyes were facing opposite directions off the sides of your head).

What I did successfully make was this awesome tiny french beret (after looking everywhere and not finding any type of black baby hat). I think the bear is pretty stoked to wear it. In this picture she is actually cheering "Go France!"

Stay tuned for more detailed pics of the finished project...I know...the suspense is killing you.
